Inje-gun stated that it will invest 500 million KRW this year to promote five welfare projects for women farmers: △welfare vouchers △shingles vaccination △special health checkups △labor reduction △installation of field-specific restrooms.

The ‘Women Farmers Welfare Voucher Support’ provides welfare points worth 200,000 KRW annually for cultural and leisure activities for women farmers. Eligible recipients are women farmers aged 20 to 75 who reside in the jurisdiction and are actively engaged in farming activities, registered as agricultural business entities before January 1, 2023.

The ‘Shingles Vaccination Support’ project offers free shingles vaccinations to women farmers aged 50 to 64 who reside in the jurisdiction and are registered as agricultural business entities. Approved applicants can receive free shingles vaccinations at the Inje-gun Public Health Center starting in April.

The ‘Special Health Checkup Support’ provides examinations and preventive counseling for diseases to which women farmers are vulnerable. It targets women farmers aged 51 to 70, born in odd-numbered years, who are registered as agricultural business entities.

This year, the support scale is 200 people. Selected recipients will receive examinations in 10 items across five areas?musculoskeletal system, cardiovascular system, fracture and injury risk, lung capacity, and pesticide poisoning?at Hallym University Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital. Additionally, they can receive tests for cataracts, cancer markers, electrocardiograms, and preventive counseling.

Along with this, projects to improve the working environment and convenience for women farmers have been prepared.

The ‘Labor Reduction Convenience Equipment Support’ project supports the purchase of equipment up to 900,000 KRW to address labor shortages in rural areas. Eligible recipients are women farmers residing in the jurisdiction and registered as agricultural business entities. Available items include electric carriers, multipurpose workbenches, portable rechargeable sprayers, and farming work chairs.

Also, the ‘Field-specific Restroom Support’ project provides funds for purchasing portable restrooms needed at farming sites. It targets farmers residing in the jurisdiction and registered as agricultural business entities. This year, support is available for five locations. If applications exceed the project capacity, recipients will be selected in order of women farmers, farms with larger cultivation areas and more employees, and farms applying for shared use (three or more households).

Applications for all these projects can be submitted at the Eup/Myeon Administrative Welfare Centers by February 13, and detailed information can be obtained by contacting the Agricultural Policy Planning Team.

An Inje-gun official said, “These projects aim to improve convenience and welfare for women farmers, so we hope they apply for the necessary projects in a timely manner.”
