Guide Signs and Guro-gu Character Signage Installed at Sindorim and Onsu Station Smart Shelters, Raising Awareness
Personal Mobility Device (PM) Parking Zone Guide Signs Installed... Expected to Establish Parking Order and Ensure Pedestrian Safety
Guro-gu has completed the renovation of two smart shelters (future-type bus stops) and three personal mobility device parking zones to ensure the safety and convenience of residents in the new year 2025.
The district started remodeling the interior and exterior of the smart shelters installed and operated at Sindorim Station and Onsu Station in 2023 from October last year and has now completed the work.
Smart shelters protect public transportation users from extreme weather conditions such as cold waves, heat waves, yellow dust, and fine dust. They feature automatically operating heating, cooling, and air purification systems to provide a comfortable environment. However, residents found it difficult to recognize what kind of space it was just from the name "smart shelter."
Therefore, the district attached guide signs and representative character signage reflecting the characteristics of the Guro-gu area on the interior and exterior of the shelters to increase familiarity and recognition, making it easier for residents to identify and use the smart shelters.
In 2025, automated external defibrillators (AEDs) will also be installed to enable quick response in emergencies.
Additionally, to resolve parking issues caused by indiscriminate placement of personal mobility devices (PM) such as electric kickboards on sidewalks, which causes inconvenience to pedestrians, guide signs have been installed at three locations: in front of Exit 3 of Guro Station, in front of Exit 1 of Sindorim Station, and in front of Hana Bank at Guro G Valley Biz Plaza.
The district expects that attaching personal mobility device parking zone guide signs will establish parking order, create a safe walking environment, and enable efficient use of space.
A Guro-gu official said, “With the renovation of smart shelters and personal mobility device parking zones, we hope these spaces will provide comfortable and pleasant services to users and pedestrians while protecting everyone’s safety. We will continue to prioritize residents’ convenience and do our best to maintain these facilities continuously.”
