Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) held the 'Volunteer Dong Camp Launch Ceremony' on the 21st at the Jungnang-gu Office basement auditorium, marking the start of a new camp to lead volunteer activities.
The 'Volunteer Camp' refers to a volunteer hub that promotes volunteer activities at the dong (neighborhood) level based on cooperative relationships with the Volunteer Center and dong community service centers. Volunteer activists, who are members of the camp, plan neighborhood programs at the Volunteer Camp, assist local residents' participation, and serve as community leaders who engage in village-centered volunteer work together.
At the event, about 240 people including volunteer camp leaders and prospective activists attended, participating in various programs such as ▲ Volunteer Dong Camp progress report ▲ Activity video screening ▲ Appointment ceremony for the leaders of 16 dong camps.
The attendees had a meaningful time communicating with each other and sharing the camp’s vision and sense of belonging.
In particular, this launch ceremony is significant as it marks the first step in greatly expanding the Volunteer Dong Camp from the previous scale of 10 members in 6 dongs to 242 members in 16 dongs, extending throughout the entire Jungnang-gu area.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “The Volunteer Dong Camp will serve as a foundation for residents to take care of their community and grow together,” adding, “I hope volunteer activities will be further activated through this launch ceremony, and I thank all the activists who participated.”
