On the 21st (local time), a fire broke out at a hotel in northwestern Turkey, killing at least 66 people and injuring 51, according to AFP and other sources.
The fire occurred around 3:30 a.m. at the restaurant inside the Grand Kartalkaya Hotel in Kartalkaya, Bolu Province, northwestern Turkey.
Governor Abdulaziz Aydin explained that 234 people were staying at the hotel, and among the victims, two died after jumping out of the hotel in a panic.
Kartalkaya, located about 300 km east of Istanbul, is a popular tourist destination known as a ski resort.
