Hong Joon-pyo, mayor of Daegu and a major potential presidential candidate, released a book titled "Why Is Politics Like That" on the 21st.
Mayor Hong has shared his thoughts on politics through social networking services (SNS). His SNS messages, often resembling candid remarks, have become a hot topic in the political world through media coverage.
This book is a collection of political diaries written on SNS, covering the period from November 2020 to November 20, 2022. It is Mayor Hong's first book in five years since "Dreaming Korea" in 2020.
The book contains Mayor Hong's stern criticisms of the political sphere and discussions on recent national turmoil.
Mayor Hong plans to present a vision for Korea's future through "Dreams Come True" in February.
His office stated, "Mayor Hong has always kept a diary since middle school, maintaining this habit consistently through his university and prosecutor days. After entering politics, instead of diaries, he began taking notes in a notebook to record daily national affairs, and later continuously wrote political diaries on Facebook."
