Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jong-sik) announced on the 21st that it will open parking lots free of charge at 709 locations, including 654 public and private schools and 55 educational institutions in the Gyeongbuk area, during the Lunar New Year holiday (from the 28th to the 30th) to alleviate parking difficulties for returning visitors and local residents.
The locations open include 9 kindergartens, 350 elementary schools, 153 middle schools, 135 high schools, 7 special schools, and institutions directly under the Office of Education Support, expected to provide practical help in areas with a shortage of parking spaces during the holiday.
Parking lot information can be checked through the Gongyu Nuri website and app, and detailed information such as the location, operating hours, number of parking spaces, and contact information of the open parking lots can also be found on public data portals like Naver Map, KakaoMap, T Map, and the Gyeongbuk Office of Education website (Information Plaza - Notices).
The Gyeongbuk Office of Education requested that when using the parking lots, users leave emergency contact information on the front of their vehicles in preparation for emergencies and refrain from inappropriate behaviors such as damaging school facilities or illegal dumping of trash.
Superintendent Lim Jong-sik of Gyeongbuk Office of Education said, “By opening parking lots free of charge during the Lunar New Year holiday, we expect to provide practical assistance to returning visitors and local residents,” adding, “We will continue to actively open public facilities to communicate with the local community and create an educational culture that enhances residents’ convenience.”
