On the 18th, two supporters accused of assaulting police officers near the Seoul Western District Court during the detention hearing of President Yoon Suk-yeol were arrested by the police.
On the 20th, Shin Han-mi, the chief judge in charge of warrants at the Western District Court, conducted a detention hearing for five supporters of President Yoon who are accused of obstructing official duties, and issued arrest warrants for two of them citing flight risk.
Judge Shin dismissed the warrants for the remaining three, citing no concern for evidence tampering and the minor nature of the assault.
These five individuals are accused of disobeying police orders and assaulting officers while the police were clearing the road in front of the Western District Court on the 18th. They are unrelated to the crowd that caused a disturbance by climbing over the court wall on the 19th.
The police have arrested a total of 90 people in connection with the disturbance at the Western District Court. Arrest warrants for 66 of them are being sequentially requested at the Western District Court.
Among the 66, 46 are accused of trespassing inside the Western District Court, 10 are accused of obstructing official duties by blocking vehicles of the High-ranking Officials’ Crime Investigation Unit (Gongjucha), and 10 are accused of obstructing official duties by climbing over the court wall or assaulting police officers.
