Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is hosting the ‘2025 Eco Mileage Neighborhood Competition’ to promote an energy-saving culture and encourage greenhouse gas reduction.
‘Eco Mileage’ is a citizen participation campaign that awards mileage points when households and businesses save energy such as electricity, water, and city gas.
The awarded mileage points can be used in various ways, including ▲purchasing Onnuri gift certificates ▲paying apartment management fees, gas bills, local taxes, etc. ▲converting to cash.
The Eco Mileage Neighborhood Competition will run until November 30 this year. Unlike the previous method of conducting the competition in two halves, this year it will be evaluated annually to enhance the continuity of Eco Mileage practice.
The district will comprehensively evaluate the performance of new Eco Mileage memberships (individuals and groups) and promotional achievements during the competition period in each neighborhood and award the top 9 neighborhoods.
At the awards ceremony held in December, the district plans to provide incentives of 1 million KRW to the top neighborhood, 500,000 KRW each to three excellent neighborhoods, and 300,000 KRW each to five encouraging neighborhoods.
Especially this year, additional points will be given for conducting promotional campaigns to encourage active participation from neighborhood community centers and residents, contributing to the spread of an energy-saving culture, the district expects.
Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “Eco Mileage is an effective energy-saving campaign where residents and small business owners can participate in reducing greenhouse gases while enjoying various benefits. We hope many residents will join the competition and actively participate in creating a ‘Carbon Neutral Gwanak.’”
