President Yoon Seok-yeol was arrested on the 19th on charges of being the ringleader of a rebellion, and his supporters broke into the Western District Court, causing a disturbance.
Yoon's supporters, extremely agitated around 3 a.m., broke through police barricades at the back gate of the Western District Court.
They smashed the courthouse's main entrance and glass windows and entered the building around 3:21 a.m.
The supporters threw fire extinguishers, breaking the courthouse glass and furnishings.
They also threw plastic chairs and cigarette ashtrays at the police and seized police shields to assault officers.
