Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 17th that it is recruiting applicants on a first-come, first-served basis for the ‘2025 Gyeonggi-do Housing Renovation Project’ aimed at improving the housing standards of vulnerable groups in urgent need of residential environment improvement.
The target projects consist of three programs: △Senior Safety Housing △Sunshine Housing △Clean Service for Children’s Housing Poverty Households, and the city plans to recruit a total of 35 households, including preliminary candidates.
‘Senior Safety Housing’ is a project that supports the installation of safety facilities within homes to improve housing stability for basic pension recipients aged 65 or older, including lowering thresholds, installing non-slip flooring, ramps, and safety handrails, with support of up to 5 million KRW per household.
‘Sunshine Housing’ is an energy efficiency project aimed at reducing heating and electricity costs for low-income households earning 50% or less of the median income (less than 3.04 million KRW for a family of four), providing support of up to 5 million KRW per household. Supported items include window and door replacement, wall reinforcement, boiler replacement, LED lighting replacement, and installation of high-efficiency heating and cooling systems.
The ‘Clean Service for Children’s Housing Poverty Households’ project, supported by lottery funds, aims to improve the residential environment and hygiene for children’s households living in poor housing conditions such as semi-basements and rooftop rooms. The clean service items include disinfection and pest control, wallpaper and flooring replacement, storage organization, and cleaning, while the goods support items include heating and cooling devices, air purifiers, washing machines, and dryers, with support of up to 3 million KRW per household.
Applications for the two projects, Senior Safety Housing and Sunshine Housing, can be submitted at the administrative welfare centers of each address’s eup, myeon, or dong until February 13, and applications for the Clean Service for Children’s Housing Poverty Households project can be submitted until March 31.
