Gwangju Office of Education to Provide Intensive College Admission Counseling for First and Second Year High School Students

The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education will conduct intensive college admission counseling for first and second-year high school students to mark the new year.

According to the Office of Education on the 15th, this counseling program has been arranged to provide better information on college admissions through systematic, periodical counseling from high school entrance to graduation.

The intensive counseling for first and second-year high school students will take place from February 3 to 7, every day from 9:40 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A total of 120 students will be eligible, with each student receiving a 50-minute counseling session.

The counseling teachers will consist of college admission specialists from the Gwangju Career and College Admission Support Group, the Korea Council for University Education's College Admission Counseling Group, and college admission support staff from the admissions team in Gwangju. Students can receive not only college admission counseling but also guidance on study methods, self-directed learning, academic planning, and career and college admissions consulting, all tailored to the needs of first and second-year high school students.

Students wishing to participate can apply on the Gwangju Career and College Admission Support Center website from 10 a.m. on the 21st to 6 p.m. on the 27th.

The Office of Education plans to analyze satisfaction and areas for improvement after the counseling sessions are completed and will operate a second round of intensive college admission counseling during the summer vacation.

Superintendent Lee Jeongseon said, "Specialist teachers in college admissions will support students so they can receive systematic counseling and realize their dreams according to their aptitudes and career paths," adding, "We will establish a college admission counseling system for all high school grades so that our students can receive help whenever they need it."
