The policies and current issues proposed by 15 neighborhoods were discussed under two sub-themes: △A city walking together embracing attractive streams △Proposals and suggestions that change citizens’ lives.
Each neighborhood proposed policies such as nine policies including Uijeongbu 1-dong’s ‘Creating Jungnangcheon Stream where trumpet vines bloom profusely, making it a desirable walking path’ for the theme of a city walking together embracing attractive streams, and six policies including Uijeongbu 2-dong’s ‘Introduction of a virtual account system for individual government grain purchases’ under the theme of proposals and suggestions that change citizens’ lives.
In particular, this month saw many policy proposals from neighborhoods that align with the major administrative goals of 2025, such as ‘An ecological city where nature can be met within 10 minutes’ and ‘A pedestrian-centered attractive design city,’ highlighting the efforts of the dongjangdan leading the leap toward a sustainable city.
In the final issue and review corner, under the theme ‘TREND Uijeongbu 2025,’ attendees watched a video applying three of the top 10 keywords selected by Trend Korea for 2025 to Uijeongbu.
The keywords were △Aboha (A Very Ordinary Day) △Muhaeryeok (The Power of Being Harmless) △Mulseongmaeryeok (The Charm of Physical Experience and Sensation). At the end, a surprise greeting welcoming the new dongjang was delivered, conveying messages from citizens and staff encouraging the dongjangdan who will work hard for the neighborhoods in the future.
Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “Thanks to many good proposals and suggestions today, we were able to grow one step further,” and added, “I hope that everyone, including the newly joined dongjangdan, will do their best for the citizens in 2025 as well.”
