Gyeongsan City in Gyeongbuk Province has embarked on securing various tax sources that will serve as valuable resources for the city's development this year.
Accordingly, Gyeongsan City announced on the 14th that it has imposed approximately 43,000 cases of regular registration and license tax this year, totaling about 670 million KRW, and has launched an active campaign to make it convenient for citizens to pay.
The taxpayers for the regular registration and license tax (license) are individuals or corporations holding taxable licenses as of the 1st of this month. The tax is levied on a sliding scale from 4,500 KRW to 45,000 KRW depending on the type of license, permitted area, number of employees, and other factors.
The payment period is from the 16th to the 31st of this month. Payment methods include visiting financial institutions nationwide, paying via bank CD/ATM machines with local tax inquiry, internet payment through Wetax and Internet Giro, ARS payment (142211), and mobile payment using Smart Wetax. In particular, the mobile service, which allows easy payment without a tax bill, is being actively encouraged.
Kim Chung-ryeol, head of the Taxation Division of Gyeongsan City, said, “The license tax is an important resource for regional development and the provision of public services,” and added, “Citizens are kindly requested to pay faithfully within the deadline as additional penalties will be imposed if the payment deadline is missed.”
