Airport Railroad Provides Real-Time Car-by-Car Congestion Information via KakaoMap

Airport Railroad announced on the 14th that real-time congestion information for each train car, which is provided through platform destination displays, can also be checked via KakaoMap.

The congestion information for each train car is the first in Korea to measure the load inside the car to calculate real-time congestion, enhancing the reliability of the information. It provides accurate congestion information by integrating Airport Railroad's real-time train operation data and KakaoMap station usage data.

In particular, the congestion information provided on KakaoMap is expressed in four levels: ▲Available ▲Normal ▲Caution ▲Crowded. Among these, the 'Normal' level indicates a state where many passengers are standing, and the 'Caution' level means a state where collisions may occur while moving. This information allows passengers to predict congestion in advance.

Earlier, Airport Railroad and Kakao signed a business agreement in 2021 to provide train congestion information for improving passenger convenience and developed a real-time information provision system.

Kim Young-gi, Head of Technology Division at Airport Railroad, stated, "By providing customers with accurate congestion information based on load measurement data for each train car, we expect a significant improvement in the convenience of Airport Railroad users."
