On the 14th, the Presidential Office announced that it has filed a complaint against Dong-A Ilbo for violating the Military Bases and Military Facilities Protection Act by photographing the area around President Yoon Suk-yeol's residence in Hannam-dong, Seoul.
In a press release that day, the Presidential Office stated, "The area around the residence is a military facility protection zone where the incumbent president and head of state resides, and any form of photography or video reporting is prohibited."
It added, "We have repeatedly stated that unauthorized photography may be punished under the Military Bases and Military Facilities Protection Act," and "nevertheless, the accused took unauthorized photographs of the residence area and reported them without permission."
The Presidential Office emphasized, "We clearly state that unauthorized photography and reporting of the residence area is an illegal act that can threaten the national security system, and we will continue to respond strongly to such illegal acts."
