Jindo County Raises 'Honor Allowance' for Veterans and Patriots

Allowance Increased by 30,000 Won Each
to Strengthen Recognition and Support

Jindo County in Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Heesu) is strengthening its recognition for national merit recipients by raising the honorary allowance given to those who have served the nation and society.


According to the county on the 14th, starting this year, the local government will increase the honorary allowance paid to recipients of national merit, such as veterans and those awarded for distinguished military service.

First, the "Honorary Allowance for Veterans and Recipients of Military Merit" will be raised from 120,000 won to 150,000 won, and both the "Spousal Allowance for Veterans and Recipients of Military Merit" and the "Honorary Allowance for National Merit Recipients" will be increased from 70,000 won to 100,000 won, an increase of 30,000 won each.


The recipients include 519 veterans and national merit recipients residing in Jindo County, and the budget for 2025 is set at 873 million won. Allowance applications can be made at the local town or township offices with jurisdiction over the resident registration address, and existing recipients will automatically receive the increased allowance without needing to apply again.


Governor Kim Heesu stated, "Honoring and supporting national merit recipients and their families is a precious value that our society must uphold," adding, "We will continue to do our best to ensure that those who have served the nation can live honorable and stable lives."
