[Invest&Law] Law Firm Hwawoo Appoints Lee Dong-geun and Kang Nam-il as New Co-Lead Attorneys

Law firm Hwawoo (Representative Lawyer Myungsoo Lee) appointed lawyers Donggeun Lee (59, Judicial Research and Training Institute class 22) and Namil Kang (56, class 23) as new representative lawyers on the 6th.


This appointment is Hwawoo's strategy to strengthen expertise in litigation and investigation response. The term is two years starting from January 2025, and they are non-registered representatives. Hwawoo aims to reach sales in the 300 billion KRW range this year.


Donggeun Lee, who oversees the litigation sector, graduated from Seoul National University Law School and has 25 years of experience working in the courts, having served as chief judge at the Seoul High Court, spokesperson of the Court Administration Office, planning general deliberator, and judicial policy deliberator. He contributed to major legislative improvements such as the revision of the Criminal Procedure Act and the introduction of citizen participation trials, and served as chief judge of the Criminal Division at the Seoul Central District Court and the Labor Specialized Division at the Seoul High Court. Since joining Hwawoo in 2024, he has handled numerous litigation cases related to large corporations.


Namil Kang, who oversees the investigation response sector, graduated from Seoul National University Law School and began his public service career as a prosecutor at the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office. He has held key positions in the prosecution and Ministry of Justice, including Director of Planning and Coordination at the Ministry of Justice and Deputy Chief Prosecutor at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office. He conducted investigations into financial and corporate crimes and uncovered the country's first stock manipulation case using social networking services. Since joining Hwawoo in 2024, he has significantly strengthened investigation response capabilities and is active in the GRC (Government Relations Consulting) Center, focusing on policy analysis and legislative consulting.
