The Audit Office of Korea Western Power appointed experts from various fields, including artificial intelligence and big data, accounting and auditing, management, and legal affairs, as advisory committee members on the 10th to enhance the quality of internal audits.

On this day, Korea Western Power held an appointment ceremony for the 6th Audit Advisory Committee and conducted a working meeting at the Korea Power Generation Public Corporation Cooperation Headquarters in Gangnam, Seoul.

The Audit Advisory Committee is a consultative body operated to secure expertise and reliability in internal audit activities through expert advice from various fields, based on the Act on Public Audit.

The newly appointed advisory committee consists of five experts in the fields of artificial intelligence and big data, accounting and auditing, management, legal affairs, and job competency. These individuals were recognized for their outstanding insight and expertise during their previous tenure as the 5th Audit Advisory Committee and have once again been entrusted with this role.

During the subsequent meeting, the results of Korea Western Power's internal audit activities and integrity assessment from the previous year were shared, and advice was provided on this year's main audit focus areas and practical measures to enhance integrity.

Korea Western Power plans to reflect the advisory committee members' opinions throughout audit activities and to frequently seek their advice during the audit process, including data collection, investigation, report preparation, and recommendations for action, in order to enhance audit completeness.

Song Jaeseop, Standing Audit Commissioner, said, "We requested reappointment to seek advice from experts who deeply understand the company's major businesses and current issues, and I thank the members for accepting. Through the advisory committee, we will realize not only fair and transparent audits but also preventive policy audits through the establishment of an efficient internal control system."
