The police are expected to accelerate investigations into the presidential office aides, starting with Director Shin. They are also coordinating a summons schedule for Presidential Chief of Staff Jeong Jin-seok.

The prosecution also summoned Director Shin as a witness on the 2nd and questioned him. It is known that the prosecution pressed Director Shin on the circumstances under which, during his tenure as Minister of National Defense, he appointed military generals who are key suspects in the martial law incident to important positions.

Earlier, on the 3rd, the Democratic Party's Legal Committee filed a complaint with the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO) accusing Director Shin, Chief of Staff Jeong, Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs Kim Ju-hyun, and Deputy Director of the Security Office In Seong-hwan, among others, of rebellion under the Criminal Act.
