The number of countries that South Korean passport holders can enter without a visa has reached 192 worldwide, ranking its "passport power" third in the world.
According to the 'Henley Passport Index' 2025 world ranking released on the website of UK-based overseas citizenship advisory firm Henley & Partners on the 9th (local time), South Korean passports currently allow visa-free entry to 192 countries. It shares the 3rd place with Finland, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain.
The 1st place goes to Singapore, which allows visa-free entry to 195 countries. Japan took 2nd place with visa-free access to 193 countries.
Joint 4th place (191 visa-free countries) is held by Austria, Denmark, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Norway. The United States, which once had the strongest passport power, ranked joint 9th (186 countries) alongside Estonia, dropping two places from last year.
Russia ranked 46th jointly with T?rkiye (116 countries), and China ranked 60th (85 countries). North Korea remained in the lower ranks at 99th (41 countries).
Among the 227 countries surveyed, the lowest rank went to Afghanistan (106th, 26 countries).
The Henley Passport Index quantifies the number of destinations a passport holder can access without a visa or with visa-on-arrival based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
