This project supported companies related to vision function assistive devices by providing prototype production, test analysis certification, technology trends, and market information to secure global competitiveness, resulting in the development of a total of 111 products and achieving sales of 42.6 billion KRW.

Additionally, it achieved 29 domestic and international certifications (19 domestic, 10 overseas) and created 379 new jobs.

In particular, since 2015, through the project to establish material technology and reliability foundations for optical lenses (contact lenses, guide lenses), a hub center was established in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk area, contributing to regional industrial development.

Kim Ki-hong, head of the project group, stated, “Considering that 97% of exports in the vision function assistive device industry are from small and medium-sized enterprises, we are planning follow-up projects for industrial advancement. Daegu Catholic University will provide maximum support with its capabilities and infrastructure to strengthen the competitiveness of companies and promote regional community development.”
