BPA Conducts Winter Season Safety Inspection at Busan Port New Port Site for the New Year

Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Jun-seok) welcomed the New Year by encouraging the hard work of port personnel working at Busan New Port and conducting a winter season on-site safety inspection throughout the new port.

This inspection was promoted to proactively check the safety management status to prevent serious accidents among port workers at Busan New Port and to reestablish workers' safety awareness at the beginning of the year.

Busan Port Authority inspected the hinterland area including the small vessel wharf and Ungdong Hwal seafood export logistics center, thoroughly examining major winter hazards such as pipe freezing and bursting, and floor icing caused by water accumulation.

In addition, to prepare for fire incidents due to dry winter weather, they checked the status of fire extinguishing equipment management and visited the newly constructed port fire brigade building, which will begin operation this year, urging everyone to do their best to ensure workers' safety until the very end.

BPA Operations Director Hong Sung-joon said, “We will always actively communicate with the field, pay special attention to the safety management of port facilities within Busan New Port, and make every effort to take preemptive measures to prevent accidents during the winter season.”
