Chungnam Province Finalizes and Announces Designation Plans for 21 Industrial Complexes

Chungnam Province announced on the 9th that it will officially confirm and announce the "2025 Industrial Complex Designation Plan" on the 10th for 21 industrial complexes in the province that have passed the demand verification meeting of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the industrial site policy review.

The designated industrial complexes this time include: △Three in Cheonan (Cheonheung 2, Cheonangunseo General Industrial Complex, Cheonanguseong Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex) △Seven in Asan (Asan 2nd Digital, Baebang Galmae, Asan Gyeongdong, Baebang, Yeongin, Asan Yeongin D-Industry, Asan Digital General Industrial Complex) △Three in Seosan (Seongyeon, Jigok, Dokgot General Industrial Complex) △Three in Nonsan (Yangchon, Sukjin General Industrial Complex, Ganggyeong 2nd Specialized Agricultural Industrial Complex) △One in Geumsan (Geumsan Lithium General Industrial Complex) △Two in Hongseong (Hongseong 2nd General Industrial Complex, Gwangcheon 2nd Gim Specialized Agricultural Industrial Complex) △Two in Yesan (Yesan Jogok Green Complex, Naepo Agricultural Bio Green General Industrial Complex).

The Asan Digital General Industrial Complex and Gwangcheon 2nd Gim Specialized Agricultural Industrial Complex are newly promoted complexes.

The total area of the industrial complexes is about 12 million square meters (3.62 million pyeong), equivalent to the size of 1,200 soccer fields. Of this, the area available for factory sites, excluding land for infrastructure and support facilities, is 7 million square meters (2.12 million pyeong).

The province expects that upon completion of the industrial complex designation plan, there will be an induced production effect of 26 trillion won and the creation of 200,292 jobs.

Since 2001, the area of industrial facility land in the province has increased by an average of 2.8% per year, and the area of general industrial complexes, agricultural industrial complexes, and urban high-tech industrial complexes ranks first in the nation.

In addition, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is promoting the "Cheonan Future Mobility National Industrial Complex" and the "Hongseong Naepo New City Future New Industry National Industrial Complex" as new national industrial complexes.

The province expects that once these national industrial complexes are confirmed, it will have the most business-friendly and investment-attractive environment in the country.

A provincial official said, "By expanding industrial sites and attracting companies, we will create Chungnam as the land of industrial development opportunities, building the most balanced industrial ecosystem in the country and pioneering a sustainable future."
