Marking its second year since launch, SKT's domestic artificial intelligence (AI) enterprise alliance, 'K-AI Alliance' (hereinafter referred to as the Alliance), showcased Korean technology at CES 2025, the world's largest information technology (IT) and electronics exhibition. With the addition of three AI companies, the Alliance now comprises 25 companies.
On the afternoon of the 8th (local time), SK Telecom announced that it held an 'IR Pitching Day' with K-AI Alliance member companies at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, USA. Five K-AI Alliance members?PersonaAI, Imprimed, Twelve Labs, Liner, and Emocog?participated, introducing their AI technologies, plans for this year, and strategic directions.
SKT is also hosting a 'Private Networking' event during CES to facilitate exchanges among domestic AI startup companies. Alliance members participating in CES and AI startups share insights on CES and AI trends. A networking opportunity with Silicon Valley venture capitalists (VCs) is also arranged.
Im Sung-won, CEO of Imprimed, who participated in the event, said, "We are pleased to have the opportunity to share our technology and vision at CES, a global event visited by over 100,000 people worldwide," adding, "This opportunity will serve as a catalyst for the Alliance to expand and develop further."
With the addition of three new AI companies, the Alliance has expanded to a total of 25 companies in just two years since its launch. The new companies are AI video analysis company Twelve Labs, AI search service developer Liner, and AI digital health company Emocog.
Twelve Labs, founded in 2021 in San Francisco, USA, develops AI multimodal models capable of understanding and searching videos. In June last year, it secured $50 million in investments from NVIDIA’s subsidiary NVentures and others, with SKT also investing $3 million last year.
Liner is an AI search service developer that provides information sources and answers based on reliable data such as academic information and papers. Liner currently has over 10 million subscribers across more than 220 countries worldwide. Kim Jin-woo, CEO of Liner, was recently selected by Forbes as one of the 'Top 33 AI Founders to Watch in 2025.'
Emocog is a digital medical innovation company developing solutions across the entire cycle of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cognitive impairments. It is developing cognitive impairment screening tools and reliable cognitive therapy technologies that are easy for elderly users to use.
SKT plans to leverage the Alliance to revitalize the domestic AI ecosystem and jointly enter the global market.
Yu Young-sang, President of SKT, stated, "Exchange and cooperation with Korean AI innovative companies are essential to becoming a global AI powerhouse," adding, "We will strive to ensure that the K-AI Alliance unites as Korea’s representative AI one team to lead the development of the AI industry."
