Yeoju City Holds Kick-off Meeting for Basic Design Service of New City Hall Construction Project

Partial Construction in the Second Half of the Year Scheduled for Completion in December 2028

Yeoju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Chung-woo) announced on the 8th that it held a kickoff meeting for the basic design service to promote the new city hall construction project at the Yeoju City Hall Situation Room on the 6th.

The kickoff meeting, chaired by Mayor Lee Chung-woo, was held with the attendance of Yeoju senior officials to discuss the new city hall construction project, which is the first campaign pledge. The design firm, Haema Comprehensive Architects Office Co., Ltd., reported on the winning design proposal, the project schedule, and design direction, followed by a Q&A session.


The new Yeoju City Hall is planned to be constructed outside the current city hall location, on a site at 9-3 Gaeop-dong, with a site area of 47,749㎡, a total floor area of approximately 31,240㎡, consisting of one basement floor and seven above-ground floors. Inside the new city hall, spaces such as a book cafe and a multipurpose plaza will be provided for citizens to freely visit, enjoy, and relax, along with efficient office spaces.


The basic design service for the new Yeoju City Hall construction project is scheduled to be completed in the first half of this year, with partial construction starting in the second half, and completion expected by December 2028.


Mayor Lee Chung-woo stated, “The construction of the new Yeoju City Hall is an important project that will lead Yeoju’s future for the next 100 years, carried out on a site directly selected by the citizens, and we will do our best efforts.”
