Gyeonggawon Supports 'Startup Heaven' with Comprehensive Aid Including Training 1,000 Innovative Entrepreneurs

Gyeonggi Province is launching comprehensive support this year to revitalize the startup ecosystem.

Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Economic Science Promotion Agency are newly forming the Gyeonggi Startup Council and expanding the Pangyo+20 innovation space to increase resident companies to 430. Additionally, through the ‘Gyeonggi Startup Academy,’ they aim to nurture over 1,000 innovative entrepreneurs. Furthermore, they will strengthen customized support in the deep tech sector and global investment attraction to assist startups in the province with overseas expansion.

To create a startup paradise in Gyeonggi, the agency held a total of three seminars under the theme ‘People who will build the Gyeonggi startup ecosystem’ starting from December last year.

This seminar was planned to present practical global growth strategies to startups facing an investment winter.

At the first seminar held on December 4 last year, the topic was ‘Success conditions desired by investors,’ followed by presentations and discussions. Youngdeok Kim, partner at Mark & Company, emphasized recession response strategies that turn economic downturns into opportunities based on the success case of Gmarket. Jiae Lee, managing director at KB Investment, proposed effective pitching strategies and know-how for early-stage investment attraction to gain investor trust.
