The currently circulating influenza virus has been identified as a strain similar to the vaccine type, raising expectations for high vaccine effectiveness.
In particular, the city is conducting a vaccination support program targeting national immunization recipients: ▲ children aged 6 months to 13 years (born between January 1, 2011, and August 31, 2024) ▲ pregnant women (regardless of gestational age) ▲ seniors aged 65 and over (born on or before December 31, 1959). Vaccinations are available at designated medical institutions within the city, and eligible individuals can receive them free of charge.
Mayor Kim Dong-geun stated, “To prevent the spread of influenza, not only children and the elderly but all citizens should take an interest,” and urged, “Please strictly follow basic preventive measures such as washing hands before and after going out, practicing proper cough etiquette, and ventilating indoor spaces.”
The city plans to continue expanding vaccination promotion and cooperate with the local community to prevent infectious diseases. For more detailed inquiries about vaccination, please contact the Uijeongbu City Public Health Center Vaccination Office.
