Genesis-Sponsored Screen Golf League TGL Officially Opens

Genesis' officially sponsored new concept screen golf league 'TGL Presented by SoFi (hereinafter TGL)' officially opens on the 7th (local time).

TGL is a new golf league hosted by Tomorrow Sports (TMRW Sports) and led by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. It features an innovative competition format that combines screen and field golf, as well as state-of-the-art facilities.

From the 7th of this month to March 25th, TGL will be held at the SoFi Center in Florida, USA, where six teams composed of top PGA Tour players will compete fiercely for a total prize money of $21 million (approximately 30.4 billion KRW).

The competition consists of a total of 15 holes. The first 9 holes are a team event in a triple format where three players from the same team alternate hitting one ball. The remaining 6 holes are individual matches where one player takes on two holes each in one-on-one duels. Each team consists of four players, with three players participating in each match.

The matches take place in an indoor stadium measuring 23,225 square meters (about 7,000 pyeong) equipped with an ultra-large screen 19.5 meters wide and 16 meters high, which is 24 times larger than those used in regular screen golf. TGL will be held every Tuesday evening local time and will be broadcast in a total of 113 countries including the United States and Korea.

Genesis will continue various activities as a founding partner and official vehicle sponsor of TGL. A ‘Genesis Lounge’ will be set up inside the stadium to provide the best viewing experience filled with Genesis’ unique hospitality. The GV70 electrified model and GV60 will be displayed inside and outside the venue, and customer participation activities applying augmented reality technology will be prepared to promote Genesis to on-site galleries and captivate viewers worldwide.
