Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) announced on the 6th that it plans to execute as much of the budget as possible early in the first half of the year to stabilize residents' lives and revitalize the local economy.
To this end, the district has formed a 'Rapid Execution Task Force' to focus on managing large-scale investment projects over 3 billion KRW and projects eligible for rapid execution, aiming to proactively promote fiscal spending.
Additionally, a significant portion of the budget allocated for 'welfare services' will also be executed early to support vulnerable groups in maintaining stable daily lives.
The goal is to select projects eligible for early execution by each department and spend 70% of the corresponding budget in the first half of the year.
The district plans to advance project schedules by simplifying unnecessary administrative procedures and relaxing execution regulations, while promoting local consumption through measures such as expanding the issuance of Dongdaemun-gu Love Gift Certificates and increasing support for the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Fund, thereby helping local businesses maintain stable management.
Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “We will manage the budget to ensure early execution where it is needed, starting with projects directly related to the local economy and residents' livelihoods.”
