Highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) has occurred at a laying hen farm in Yeoju-si, Gyeonggi-do.

According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (AI) on the 6th, highly pathogenic AI (H5N1 type) occurred at a laying hen farm in Yeoju-si.

The farm where AI occurred this time is located 600 meters in a straight line from the farm where the outbreak occurred on the 26th of last month. The quarantine authorities are strengthening quarantine measures by restricting the movement of 2.6 million poultry in 25 farms within a 10 km radius of the affected farm.

This is the fourth case in Gyeonggi-do poultry farms this winter, following Gimpo and Hwaseong, and the 20th case of highly pathogenic AI nationwide in poultry farms.
