Gwangju Dong-gu (District Chief Lim Taek) announced on the 6th that it was the only institution in the Gwangju area to be selected as the top-performing organization in the 2024 Local Non-Tax Revenue Management Performance Analysis and Evaluation conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety annually evaluates collection performance and management policies of local governments nationwide to diagnose the status of non-tax revenue management and operations. Based on these results, it selects and awards outstanding local governments to promote efficiency in the local non-tax revenue system and improve collection rates.
In this year's evaluation of 243 local governments nationwide, Dong-gu was recognized for its non-tax revenue collection rate and efforts in managing delinquent collections, making it the only district in Gwangju to be selected as an outstanding organization for five consecutive years.
Dong-gu received high marks for providing customized assessment and collection manuals to enhance staff capabilities, conducting regular training with external instructors, and implementing tailored non-tax revenue collection strategies that consider local conditions and taxpayer situations.
Lim Taek, Chief of Dong-gu District, stated, "Local non-tax revenue is a valuable autonomous resource essential for building a happier Dong-gu together, and its stable acquisition is important." He added, "We will continue to do our best for systematic and efficient financial management in the future."
