Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) is launching three new projects under the 2025 Youth Job Future Package to provide stable jobs for young people and alleviate the management burden on small and medium-sized enterprises.
According to Goyang Special City on the 6th, the Youth Job Future Package targets young people aged 18 to 39 residing in the city and operates ▲ Future Growth Administrative Experience Training ▲ Future Leap Youth Jobs ▲ Future Dream Startup Youth Support.
Starting this year, the ‘Future Growth Administrative Experience Training Project’ has expanded its target group, duration, and hours to allow more young people to enhance their job skills. The target group has been broadened from university students to unemployed youth aged 18 to 39, with university students working 20 days during summer vacation and youth working in three-month terms in the first and second halves of the year. The training days and hours are adjusted according to the working conditions of the assigned department (institution), ranging from 5 to a maximum of 7 hours per day.
In particular, unlike previous administrative experience training which was limited to simple tasks such as database management and returned book organization, this year specialized jobs that utilize participants’ majors have been newly introduced, which is expected to increase demand among young participants.
The ‘Future Leap Youth Job Project’ supports 30 young people newly hired as regular employees in local companies for three years to help them settle in the region and stabilize their lives. For employed youth, a retention incentive is provided after 6 months of continuous employment, 80% of labor costs (up to 1.68 million KRW) are supported in the second year, and a long-term retention incentive totaling 10 million KRW is paid quarterly at 2.5 million KRW for one year in the third year to support youth independence.
The ‘Future Dream Startup Youth Support Project’ supports 10 young entrepreneurs within 7 years of starting their business for two years to reduce the initial startup cost burden. In the first year, 15 million KRW is provided for indirect startup expenses (rent, prototype production costs, promotion expenses, etc.), and in the second year, 80% of labor costs are supported for one year when hiring new youth employees.
Additionally, the city plans to create a startup incubating space on the second floor of the Tomorrow Dream Factory, where networking days featuring startup education, mentoring, and consulting for prospective entrepreneurs will be held regularly.
Mayor Lee Dong-hwan of Goyang Special City said, “Goyang City is striving to provide customized support that can offer practical help to young people,” and added, “We expect the Future Package Job Projects to lay the foundation for youth independence and contribute to creating an environment where they can settle in the local community.”
Meanwhile, for more details about the Future Package Job Projects, inquiries can be made to the Youth Policy Team of the Job Policy Division.
