Gimcheon City Yulgok Library Operates Wise Vacation Activities Together

Gyeongbuk Gimcheon City Yulgok Library announced on the 6th that it will operate a reading culture program for elementary school students called "Wise Winter Vacation Life" during the winter break.

Wise Winter Vacation Life consists of "My Picture Book Author Challenge," where participating children create and publish their own picture books, and "Picture Book Imagination Playground," which is conducted by inviting picture book authors.

First, "My Picture Book Author Challenge," which will be held every Friday for 7 weeks from the 10th of this month to the 28th of next month, allows children to learn about the components of picture books. Additionally, by participating in the entire picture book production process, they will experience the joy of creation and a sense of accomplishment by ultimately publishing a picture book containing their own story.

Also, on the 21st, the program "Picture Book Imagination Playground" will be held with author Yu Seolhwa, well known for the 'Super Rabbit Series' and 'Glove Series,' and on the 22nd with author Go Sujin, known for 'Raspberry King' and 'Dark Cloud Train.'

This event will offer children the joy of reading through picture books read directly by the authors, introductions to the picture book production process, and various hands-on activities. Detailed information can be found in the announcements section of the city library's website.

Lee Sun-young, director of Gimcheon City Library, said, "Through picture books, we hope to convey the joy of reading to children and provide opportunities to foster creativity and imagination so that children can enjoy their winter vacation at the library."
