Busan Mayor Park Hyung-jun will visit Las Vegas and Seattle in the United States from the 6th to the 11th. This business trip focuses on opening export routes and attracting investment for Busan companies.
Mayor Park plans to attend various events, including 'CES 2025,' to strengthen Busan's global competitiveness.
As his first schedule, Mayor Park will visit Las Vegas from the 6th to the 8th to attend CES 2025, the world's largest consumer technology exhibition. A record 23 Busan companies are participating in this CES. After attending the opening ceremony of the Integrated Busan Pavilion, Mayor Park plans to promote Busan's technological capabilities through meetings with global companies.
He will also attend the 'Busan Networking Day,' a networking event with overseas venture capitalists and buyers, to support the overseas expansion of Busan companies. At this CES, Busan City will showcase its innovative industries worldwide through the independently operated Integrated Busan Pavilion. Kinsey Fabrizio, President of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), will also attend the pavilion's opening ceremony to support Busan's status.
Afterward, on the 9th, Mayor Park will move to Seattle to visit Microsoft (MS) headquarters and the quantum computing company IonQ in succession. At Microsoft headquarters, an MOU will be signed to establish the Busan Data Center Academy, and at IonQ, an agreement will be signed to foster the quantum science technology industry.
He will then meet with Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell at Seattle City Hall to discuss cooperation plans between the two cities. Key areas include technology, tourism, aviation, logistics, coffee, and the environment.
Through this trip, Mayor Park plans to expand Busan's export routes and focus on attracting investment.
He emphasized, "The most important thing to make Busan a city where people want to live again is the recovery of the people's economy that citizens can feel," adding, "Through this trip, Busan City, Busan innovative companies, and affiliated institutions will cooperate to produce tangible results."
