Chuncheon City "Don't Miss Applying for Half-Price Agricultural Supplies This Year"

Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Chuncheon City (Mayor Yuk Dong-han) announced on the 6th that it will accept applications for the half-price agricultural materials support project through the administrative welfare centers of the towns and townships where the farmland is located until the 17th.

The half-price agricultural materials support project supplies farming materials at affordable prices to small and medium-sized farms with small-scale farming operations to alleviate the management burden on farmers. It was first launched in 2023 and has received high praise from farmers. This year, an additional 1 billion KRW of city funds was added to the existing budget of 2.4 billion KRW.

The supported items include fertilizer, pesticides, potting soil, mulching film, greenhouse film, agricultural product packaging materials, nutrient solution media, seeds (seeds, seedlings, seed potatoes), drip irrigation and fertigation pipes, shading materials, and thermal covers. The support unit price varies by paddy and field area segments, with up to 525,000 KRW for paddy fields and up to 1,575,000 KRW for fields.

Applicants must be registered farming households who have resided in Chuncheon City for more than two years and are actively engaged in agricultural management. Returning farmers and rural migrants who have registered as agricultural management entities for more than one year can also apply.

Applications can be submitted at the administrative welfare centers of the towns and townships where the farmland is located. If the farmland is located in other cities or counties within Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, applications should be submitted to the Agricultural Support Division of the Chuncheon Agricultural Technology Center. However, duplicate support is not allowed for agricultural materials purchased through other subsidy projects.

Hong Soon-gap, head of the Agricultural Support Division of Chuncheon City, said, “After the selection of beneficiaries, agricultural materials can be purchased from contracted agricultural material suppliers within the jurisdiction designated by the farmers until the end of September,” adding, “This project is expected to alleviate the financial burden on farmers.”
