Sonide announced on the 6th that inquiries related to robots from L-PIAP, the exclusive partner of its subsidiary Defense Korea in Poland's Włocławek, have surged from overseas buyers.
According to the company, interest in the robot business has recently increased, leading to continuous inquiries about purchasing exhibition robots. Since the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) robots have proven their performance through supply to the Republic of Korea military and police special forces, they are expected to achieve substantial results in the future.
Since September last year, Sonide has been operating a robot exhibition hall in Gangnam, Seoul, in cooperation with Defense Korea and Włocławek PIAP. Through this, they showcase cutting-edge robot technology and strengthen their presence in the Asian market. The exhibition hall has already been visited by the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Korea and the Embassy of Japan in Korea.
PIAP entered the Korean market about 10 years ago and has established itself as a premium robot solution provider based on product competitiveness. The EOD robots have been introduced to the Ministry of National Defense and police special forces, proving their reliability and efficiency in various military training and counterterrorism operations.
Domestically, the PIAP GYF robot and PIAP FENIX robot have been selected as robots demonstrating excellent efficiency and durability after rigorous equipment tests by the police special forces. According to the company, they are gaining attention as key options used in bomb threat reconnaissance and neutralization operations.
A PIAP official stated, “Korea has high interest and demand for EOD robots,” adding, “The Sonide robot exhibition hall will serve as a bridgehead for entry into the Korean and Asian markets.”
A Sonide representative added, “Włocławek PIAP robot solutions meet the procurement standards of the Korean National Police Agency and the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA), making them the most suitable products for offset trade between Korea and Poland.”
