Best Practices for Sustainable Healthcare Management

Samsung Electro-Mechanics announced on the 6th that it has been reselected as an 'Outstanding Workplace for Worker Health Promotion Activities' by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency in recognition of its achievements in employee health promotion.

The Outstanding Workplace for Worker Health Promotion Activities is selected by evaluating a total of 43 items across 7 categories, including safety and health systems, awareness levels, organizational culture, and health promotion activities, according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Employment and Labor. The certification is maintained for three years and can be extended for another three years through a re-evaluation.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics maintained its status as an outstanding workplace in this re-evaluation, following its initial selection in 2021 as the first company within the Samsung Group. Certified workplaces receive a plaque recognizing their systematic investment and efforts toward health promotion.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics has established health promotion plans through the Industrial Safety and Health Committee and has operated programs such as ▲mobile health promotion programs ▲1:1 personalized exercise and dietary management ▲remote medical consultations for overseas expatriates ▲emotional stability programs.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics conducted a 12-week remote mobile health promotion program aimed at improving the three major chronic diseases (diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia) and obesity. Additionally, through personalized exercise prescriptions and walking challenges, the average BMI of employees improved by 6% compared to the previous year.

For overseas expatriates, remote medical consultations linked with general hospitals are provided, supporting consultations in 17 medical specialties and issuing prescriptions in English. For mental health, a Mind Health Center is operated. Efforts are made to promote emotional stability through couple counseling, psychiatric treatment, and meditation education.
