The Small and Medium Business Corporation announced on the 6th that it is recruiting companies to participate in the ‘2025 Structural Innovation Support Project’ to help businesses secure continuous growth momentum.
Starting recruitment on the 13th, this Structural Innovation Support Project aims to address structural difficulties faced by small and medium-sized enterprises during the rapid industrial structural transformation processes such as carbon neutrality and accelerated digital transformation.
Specifically, it supports ▲ business transformation consulting for transitioning to new business fields ▲ digital transformation consulting to enhance digital capabilities ▲ industrial and job transition consulting to proactively respond to changes in the labor environment ▲ and subsequent linked projects.
The support targets small and medium-sized enterprises with five or more regular employees that wish to undergo business, digital, or job transitions. The Small and Medium Business Corporation plans to select and support around 1,000 companies for diagnosis and approximately 1,040 companies for consulting this year, with no cost burden on participating companies.
Participating companies will receive an assessment of their structural innovation response level and business transformation feasibility, and can establish a structural innovation roadmap through customized consulting tailored to their level. Additionally, upon approval of the business transformation plan through the Small and Medium Business Corporation, companies can participate in subsequent linked projects such as business transformation funds, research and development (R&D), and industrial job transition support grants.
Last year, the Small and Medium Business Corporation additionally opened Structural Innovation Support Centers in three regions?Ansan in Gyeonggi, Chuncheon in Gangwon, and Cheonan in Chungnam?to advance regional core industries. Especially this year, reflecting voices from the field, it plans to recruit additional consultants in new business areas such as platform service convergence and HR fields, and enhance the quality of structural innovation consulting through performance-centered management to increase satisfaction among participating companies.
Director Kang Seok-jin stated, “With South Korea’s economic growth forecast revised down to the 1% range this year, the difficulties felt by companies on the ground are expected to increase further. During these challenging times, the Small and Medium Business Corporation will do its utmost to proactively reach out to companies in need of structural innovation and provide them with new opportunities for innovation and growth.”
