Underground Parking Lot with 566 Spaces... Scheduled for Completion in February

Jeong Myeong-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong City, Gyeonggi Province, visited the construction site of the underground parking lot at Yeoul Park in Dongtan 2 District, which is being carried out by Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), on the 3rd for an on-site inspection.


The underground parking lot at Yeoul Park is a project aimed at alleviating parking inconveniences for citizens using Dongtan SRT Station and Yeoul Park. Construction began in 2021 and is scheduled for completion next month. The parking lot will be built as an underground facility with a total of 566 spaces, making it the largest in the Hwaseong area.

Through the site inspection, Mayor Jeong personally checked for citizen usage inconveniences and safety issues, and confirmed ▲work environment management ▲cracks in interior and exterior finishing materials ▲appropriateness of safety facility installations.


The city plans to promptly carry out repair work on minor issues found during the inspection and take corrective actions, and to continuously manage safety and quality by rechecking after corrective measures for concerns about defects.


Mayor Jeong stated, "Yeoul Park is a core facility of the 'Botanic Garden Hwaseong' project promoted by the city," and added, "Now that Hwaseong has become a special city, we will reward citizens with the best space befitting that status."


Meanwhile, the city plans to connect the underground passage from Cheonggye Central Park to Dongtan Station to the underground parking lot at Yeoul Park in the future, enabling east-west pedestrian movement centered around Dongtan Station for citizens.
