At around 10:30 a.m. on the 4th, a report was received by the Coast Guard situation room and others that a fishing boat carrying 21 people had collided with a rock near the waters off Gageodo, Heuksan-myeon, Shinan-gun, Jeollanam-do.
The Coast Guard, along with civilian rescue vessels such as fishing boats, has currently rescued 19 people on board. Of the remaining three, one is in cardiac arrest and two are unconscious and in the process of being rescued.
The Coast Guard plans to determine the exact cause of the accident.
