Jongno-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeong Munheon) announced on the 30th that it will be the first among Seoul's 25 autonomous districts to entrust the management of volume-based waste bags to the Facilities Management Corporation and introduce an online system to enhance management efficiency and user convenience.
Starting January 1st next year, the district will delegate the delivery and management of volume-based waste bags to the Jongno-gu Facilities Management Corporation. Until now, the delivery and management of these bags were handled by the household waste collection subcontractor, but with this transfer, the corporation will take charge of all tasks, including inventory management and delivery schedule coordination. This is expected to significantly improve the stability of the supply of volume-based waste bags.
Additionally, Jongno-gu plans to introduce an internet ordering and payment system through the corporation’s website, providing convenience to 372 bag sales locations within the district.
Bag sales locations will move away from the traditional phone orders and cash payments, allowing customers to order volume-based waste bags anytime and anywhere using a computer or mobile phone, and complete payments via card or virtual account. Furthermore, customers can receive Kakao AlimTalk notifications provided by the system and check real-time order status.
Jongno-gu stated, "With the transfer of duties to the corporation and the introduction of the online system, purchasing and managing volume-based waste bags will become more convenient and transparent," and added, "We will strive to provide excellent administrative services that residents can feel in their daily lives."
