Naver Map Releases English, Chinese, and Japanese Version Usage Guides for Foreign Users

Naver announced on the 30th that it has launched a 'Naver Map Usage Guide' page for foreign tourists visiting Korea. The service is available in three languages: English, Chinese, and Japanese.

The Naver Map Usage Guide provides multilingual instructions on ▲tips for exploring must-visit places ▲how to use public transportation route search, among others. To enable more foreign tourists visiting Korea to refer to the guide, Naver plans to produce leaflets and distribute them at major hubs frequently visited by foreign tourists, such as the Incheon Airport Tourist Information Center, Airport Railroad Information Center, and Myeongdong Welcome Center.

Naver Map is the only service in Korea that supports four languages: Korean, English, Chinese, and Japanese. Users can explore local information and check travel routes within a single application. Foreign users can view Korea’s largest-scale place information and vivid visitor reviews encompassing text, photos, and videos in multiple languages, making it easy to find places that suit their preferences. By referring to real-time public transportation arrival information, subway maps, boarding and alighting guidance, and alternative transportation options, users can smoothly reach their destinations.

Additionally, Naver Map plans to enhance its place-specialized large language model (LLM) to improve the accuracy and convenience of multilingual searches and aims to create an environment by next year where foreign users can conveniently make reservations for restaurants and performances.

Choi Seung-rak, the leader in charge of Naver Map services, said, "We plan to promote the usability of the map through various channels so that foreign tourists visiting Korea can enjoy their trips more conveniently with just Naver Map." He added, "For example, by collaborating with overseas influencers, we will raise awareness abroad and support more foreign users to utilize Naver Map from the travel preparation stage."
