Gwangju Transportation Corporation (President Cho Ikmun) has achieved the top rank among 37 local public enterprises by receiving an A grade, the highest rating, as an 'Outstanding Institution' in the 2024 Self-Audit Activities Document Review conducted by the Board of Audit and Inspection.
The Self-Audit Activities Document Review is a system in which the Board of Audit and Inspection annually evaluates the appropriateness of the operation of internal audit organizations and the effectiveness of internal controls at central administrative agencies, local governments, and public institutions in accordance with the Public Audit Act.
In this review, the corporation was recognized for enhancing work reliability and transparency through in-depth audits of all departments, systematically organizing personnel for professional audits, striving to improve the quality of audit reports, and thoroughly managing follow-up actions on internal and external audit findings.
In particular, the corporation achieved positive results by playing the role of an advisor, promoting active communication such as revitalizing routine audits so that each department can handle tasks rationally from the project planning stage, thereby focusing on 'prevention' rather than 'post-incident pointing out'.
Lee Hyemyung, Standing Auditor of Gwangju Transportation Corporation, stated, "Being selected as the 'Outstanding Institution' in the Board of Audit and Inspection's self-audit activities is an objective recognition of our corporation's audit capabilities," and added, "We will continue to strengthen preventive audits to establish a culture of proactive administration and lead the corporation's healthy growth."
