Citizens of Busan are gathering at the district office of Park Su-young, a member of the National Assembly from the People Power Party, and are confronting the police. The citizens are demanding a statement regarding President Yoon Seok-yeol's alleged charges of insurrection.
According to civic groups on the 28th, as of 2 p.m., citizens and police are in a standoff at Park's district office located in Nam-gu, Busan. Park currently serves as the head of the People Power Party's Busan City Committee.
At around 11:10 a.m. that day, about ten citizens identifying themselves as "candlelight citizens" visited Park's district office, urging him to "clarify his position on the insurrection."
At the time, the office was hosting the "Let's Meet the Member of the National Assembly" event, which Park holds weekly to meet with local residents.
Upon their arrival, Park's side requested police assistance, and as the police attempted to block their entry, the standoff continued.
Currently, about ten citizens are on the second floor of the building demanding a meeting with Park, while approximately 30 citizens who gathered after hearing the news are protesting outside the building holding placards with slogans such as "Impeach and Arrest Yoon Seok-yeol" and "Disband the People Power Party."
