‘200 Million Won Donation’ Yuna Yoon: "I Will Become the Best in the United States"

At a press conference held on the 26th at Lunamiele in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, she announced that she would donate 100 million won each to the Korea Golf Association (KGA) and the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA). She said, "I have said that I will be a player who strives for the development of golf, and I thought that what I can do is to help junior players," adding, "I hope to be a seed of hope for junior players who are nurturing their dreams in difficult environments."

Yoon Ina will join the U.S. Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour next year. This year, she swept major individual titles such as the money list leader, the Player of the Year, and the lowest scoring average on the KLPGA Tour. Earlier this month, she secured her LPGA Tour card by finishing 8th in the LPGA Tour Qualifying (Q) Series Final held in Mobile, Alabama.

She said, "I am advancing to the LPGA Tour, the stage of dreams and the biggest stage as a golf player, to take on a new challenge," adding, "I will prepare thoroughly and aim for Rookie of the Year with determination." She continued, "I know well that winning does not come just because I want it. Doing my best in every tournament comes first," and added, "If I work hard, I believe the titles of winning and Rookie of the Year will come as well." Yoon Ina, who said, "My goal next year is to adapt well, and in the long term, I want to reach world No. 1 and maintain it for as long as possible," revealed her big ambitions by saying, "Winning a gold medal at the Olympics is also something I desire."

Yoon Ina plans to depart on January 19 next year and make the Founders Cup in early February her official LPGA Tour debut. Ahead of her move to the U.S., she has newly partnered with Semasports Marketing. Based in Dallas, she will focus on adapting locally. She will also hire a short game coach and caddie. Discussions regarding new sponsorships are ongoing.
