On Christmas Eve, a secret donation arrived at a police precinct in Busan, bringing a warm and touching moment.
According to Yonhap News and Channel A, around 10 a.m. on the 24th, a delivery box was found in front of the Deokcheon Precinct in Buk-gu, Busan. When the police officers opened the box, it reportedly contained thirty 1,000-won bills, a piggy bank, children's padded jackets, kimchi for kimjang, and a letter. After checking the closed-circuit television (CCTV), the police expressed their gratitude, concluding from the person’s appearance in the footage and the handwriting in the letter that the anonymous donor had made at least eight donations up to that day.
The anonymous donor introduced himself in the letter as a father of three children, including a disabled child, and a welfare recipient. He wrote, "I raised money by selling scrap paper, but I couldn’t achieve much despite my efforts, so I couldn’t donate a lot. I hope this reaches a family with children in need during the cold winter." He also added, "I made this donation to create a meaningful day for my son on my youngest child’s birthday," and mentioned, "Since the bills were not clean, I went to the bank to exchange them for clean ones."
He continued, "Our family prepared small gifts with sincerity: kimchi for kimjang and padded jackets," and said, "I don’t know how the kimchi will taste, but please enjoy it. I’m not sure if the padded jackets will please the children, but I hope they serve as Christmas presents." He concluded, "The piggy bank was saved by the three siblings from their allowances. Please accept the piggy bank of these lovely three siblings. Merry Christmas."

The police suspect that this donor is the same person who left a box containing donations and ramen in front of the precinct on May 6, the day after Children’s Day this year. In that letter, the donor also introduced himself as "a father of three children." He wrote, "I prepared clothes, snacks, and cash with money earned from selling scrap paper," and apologized, "I worked hard for a month but am sorry I couldn’t donate much." At that time, the box reportedly contained clothes, snacks, ramen, and thirty 1,000-won bills.
Jung Hak-seop, team leader of the Deokcheon Precinct at the Busan Northern Police Station, told Channel A, "When I asked the officers who worked at Deokcheon Precinct, they said this person has donated several times in the past." He added, "As a police officer, I feel a bit ashamed. We should also donate and practice this, but we don’t do it well. However, although this person’s circumstances are not affluent, his heart is incredibly rich. There is much to learn from him." The donations and items delivered by the anonymous donor will be handed over to the administrative welfare center to be used for neighbors in need.
