Kim Yoon-chul, the governor of Hapcheon County, Gyeongnam, was appointed as a member of the Regional Culture and Tourism Expert Committee, representing county governors nationwide, at the Daehui Room of the Local Era Committee in Sejong City.
The Regional Culture and Tourism Expert Committee operates under the Local Era Committee, a ministerial-level organization directly under the President, in accordance with the "Special Act on Local Autonomy Decentralization and Regional Balanced Development." The first committee consisted of 10 members, and the current second committee comprises 12 members who will serve until November 22 of next year.

In particular, ahead of the launch of the second committee at the end of November this year, Woo Dong-gi, chairman of the Local Era Committee, requested the appointment of additional experts who can accurately convey local voices, reportedly nominating Governor Kim Yoon-chul directly.
Governor Kim said, “Before the special lecture held in Hapcheon this September, I had about an hour-long meeting with Chairman Woo Dong-gi, during which we discussed the unique cultural and tourism characteristics of Hapcheon County and common challenges faced by local governments. I believe those proposals left a strong impression.” He added, “As an expert representing counties nationwide, I will do my best to eliminate cultural and tourism disparities by region and ensure that policies necessary for our county are reflected.”
