Military Reconnaissance Satellite No. 3 Successfully Enters Normal Space Orbit

Our military's reconnaissance satellite No. 3, launched toward space, has successfully entered orbit.

According to the Ministry of National Defense on the 21st, the reconnaissance satellite No. 3, launched from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, USA, entered orbit. A Ministry of National Defense official stated, "Our military reconnaissance satellite No. 3 successfully separated from the launch vehicle at around 9:24 PM (Korean time) and entered the target orbit normally," adding, "We will verify its normal operation through communication with the ground station thereafter."

Earlier, the Falcon 9 launch vehicle of the American space company SpaceX, carrying reconnaissance satellite No. 3, was launched at around 8:34 PM Korean time on the same day. The Falcon 9, composed of two stages, had its first stage separated 2 minutes and 18 seconds after launch, followed by the separation of the fairing (satellite protective cover) 48 seconds later.

The reconnaissance satellite No. 3 completely separated from the launch vehicle and entered orbit approximately 50 minutes after launch.
