[Weather] Gwangju and Jeonnam to See Sharp Temperature Drop with Strong Winds on the 22nd

Most areas of Gwangju and Jeonnam will continue to experience cold weather as temperatures drop significantly along with strong winds.


According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration on the 21st, rain or snow fell from the morning and gradually stopped in the afternoon.


On the 22nd, most areas of Gwangju and Jeonnam will see strong winds with gusts exceeding 55 km/h (15 m/s). The west coast of Jeonnam is expected to receive less than 5mm of rain or 1 to 5cm of snow.


The morning's lowest temperatures are forecasted to be -4 degrees Celsius in Damyang, Suncheon, and Hwasun; -3 degrees in Gwangyang; -2 degrees in Gwangju, Naju, Yeosu, and Yeongam; -1 degree in Yeonggwang and Haenam; 1 degree in Mokpo and Wando; and 0 degrees in Muan. The highest daytime temperatures are expected to be 7 degrees in Gwangyang; 6 degrees in Yeosu, Wando, and Haenam; 5 degrees in Naju, Mokpo, Muan, and Suncheon; 4 degrees in Gwangju, Yeonggwang, Yeongam, and Hwasun; and 3 degrees in Damyang, which is lower than yesterday.


Waves in the West Sea are expected to reach 1.5 to 3.5 meters, and in the South Sea, 1.5 to 2.5 meters. Fine dust levels in both Gwangju and Jeonnam are expected to remain at 'moderate' levels.


An official from the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration said, "As icy roads and black ice are expected on back roads, alleys, sloped roads, and shaded areas due to low temperatures, please pay special attention to traffic safety and pedestrian safety."
