This is regarded as a fruition of Mayor Baek Young-hyun’s administration philosophy of ‘Citizen-Centered Pocheon through Communication and Trust’ during the 8th elected term.
In particular, Pocheon City established a strong anti-corruption promotion plan earlier this year and focused on improving corruption-vulnerable areas such as permits and approvals, taxation, subsidy support, contracts, and management.
To this end, Pocheon City conducted six annual integrity and courteous communication training sessions for public officials in charge of permits and approvals, implementing strong integrity policies to enhance civil complaint satisfaction. It also built an integrity governance network with 26 public, private, and academic institutions including the Pocheon Police Station to share and discuss various policies for improving integrity.
Additionally, to improve internal perception, Mayor Baek Young-hyun personally conducted training on eradicating power harassment and the code of conduct for public officials, promoting various policies to create a workplace atmosphere where employees want to work. As a result, the internal perception evaluation score rose by 8.2 points from the previous year to 70.5 points, which is 15.8 points higher than the average score of the evaluation targets (54.7 points).
Furthermore, to further enhance the external perception in the permits and approvals sector, Pocheon City plans to prepare focused improvement measures by 2025 regarding work transparency, power harassment, and passive administration, aiming to provide citizens with friendlier and fairer administration.
Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon City said, “Being selected as an excellent institution in comprehensive integrity for two consecutive years is thanks to the efforts of citizens and public officials,” and added, “We will continue to raise awareness of integrity and implement strong anti-corruption and integrity policies that increase citizen satisfaction to create a ‘Citizen-Centered Pocheon through Communication and Trust.’”
